WHAT'S NEW???

You might ask "what's new" and we're here to tell you what is new as of June 12, 2009 :

1) DBMAT's has worked closely with the Texas Legislature to pass two bills.  These bills were signed by the Governor in May 2009. 2 Deafblind bills signed into law

2) The June 2009 Newsletter is now on-line!  It tells some of the stories which arose out of the past 6 months of Legislative Activity.

3) DBMAT's First Christian Knapp Memorial Golf Tournament was November 13, 2008:   DBMAT-Golf-Tournament

4) On June 14th, 2008, "Loose Change," held a unique fundraiser at Zilker Park in Austin.  Click on this link to see the evidence that a good time was had by all... and money was raised for DBMAT: PowderPuff

5)  June 2008 was Deaf Blind Awareness Month in Texas.  Here is a copy of our poster which was created by the Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services at the request of the Deaf Blind Task Force.  At the top is a recently discovered picture of Helen Keller and her intervener, Annie Sullivan.  Along the right column are pictures of deafblind Texans with their interveners.  Deafblind Awareness Month Poster

6)  You can now become a member of DBMAT online, or donate online.

7) DBMAT held it's annual conference October 09.
